Invitations & Social Media
Unfortunately editable PDF files cannot be used directly with mobile devices or social media. You must use a desktop or laptop computer. Please see the instructions below to prepare your Invitation for a mobile device, or social media.
Step 1: EDIT YOUR INVITATION
When you have edited your PDF invitation file using the latest version of Adobe Reader, you will need to make sure the blue highlighted fields are turned OFF.
To remove the blue highlighted areas: Find 'Preferences' (under 'Adobe Reader' for Mac and under 'Edit' for PC).
Click on 'Forms' and then under the heading 'Highlight Color' untick the box that reads 'Show border hover color for fields'.
Then, save your invitation as a PDF.
Files in Adobe Reader cannot be saved as .JPEG which is the format required to email or upload an invitation to social media.
Please note: It is NOT recommended to send your edited PDF invitation file to guests via email, as the edited text/embedded fonts, will not show up correctly when your guest views the invitation at their end.
Step 2: SAVING YOUR INVITATION AS A .JPEG
To send your Invitations via email or upload to social media, you will need to take a screenshot or partial screenshot of your Invitation (How to take Screenshots). This will save your file as a .JPG or .PNG image file type, which CAN be emailed/uploaded.
Step 3: CROPPING YOUR INVITATION
If the .JPG screenshot of your invitation contains the full computer screen, and not just the invitation itself, you can use the default 'Paint' or 'Photo Editing' software on your computer, and use the crop tool, to remove any unwanted areas and crop the image to show just the invitation.
Step 4: EMAILING OR UPLOADING YOUR INVITATION
Your invitations are then ready to send via Email/Text Message or Upload to Social Media for your guests.
To get the invitation to your phone, you can either sync your phone/computer, email it, or dropbox it to yourself.
You can upload the .JPG invitation directly to a site such as Facebook using your computer, or via your phone.
IMPORTANT: This method IS NOT for use with sending invitations to a printer to be printed. A computer screenshot is very low resolution, and is only suitable for sending email invites, text message, or uploading to websites such as Facebook.
For information about sending invitations to a printer, please see the 'Printing' section on the Invitation Instructions page.
