We had such a fun time organising and styling a Greek Dinner Party for a small group of friends recently! We absolutely love Greece and Greek food, and judging from the feedback we had, everything from the food to the decorations were a great success and wonderful night was had by all...
I created place settings with our guests names in Greek and decorated with string, fresh sage and rosemary of course!
Rather than have individual menus on the table, we opted for a drinks menu and a blackboard Menu Board, to give more of a traditional Greek Tavern feel.
For the table centrepiece, I kept it simple with vases of fresh Rosemary and Basil and candles to be lit later...

I purchased these adorable Greek Pantheon Gift Boxes from Etsy and filled them with homemade Kourambiethes Greek Shortbreads which are usually given for christmas, but I felt that this was an occasion that was special enough!
Just before our guests arrived, we made sure to have plenty of Greek Beer on ice, as well as a small appetizer Mezze Plate featuring some yummy greek morsels such as dolmades, crumbed feta olives and hummus, as well as 'Ouzitos' (Ouzo Mojitos) our Greek Cocktails, at the ready...
It was also time to light the candles, and give the room that fabulous warm welcoming 'Greek Tavern' ambience that only candles can achieve...
When our guests sat down, I announced that we would be playing a game during dinner. I had prepared 'Laurel' leaf crowns for all of us to wear (using Gardenia foliage to replace the Laurel leaves!), so we could play Celebrity Head Greek Mythology edition!
I also prepared a 'cheat sheet' to help us all, since it was also intended as a learning experience about Greek Gods, Goddesses & Mythological Creatures.

It was finally time to start cooking! So we served up some Greek classics such as a selection of homemade dips and pita bread, Saganaki Cheese, a grilled baby octopus & calamari salad, and of course grilled Lamb with Greek Lemon Potatoes & a Greek Salad, all of which were served with wine.
What a great night! We had so much fun and so did our guests...can't wait until the next one!
