STEP 2: EDITING
To edit your files, you will require the latest version of Adobe Reader, which is a Free Download available for Mac or PC at http:// www.get.adobe.com/reader
Our editable PDF files are NOT compatible with Adobe Reader Touch - You MUST use Adobe Reader DC.
When opened correctly in Adobe Reader DC, all editable files have embedded fonts, colours and sizes, and will appear as you see them in the examples online.
All editable Sassaby Parties files must be opened in Adobe Reader DC BEFORE attempting to edit in any other way.
If files are edited in a web browser, Mac Preview or any other program, the embedded editable fonts will not show up correctly, and the file will become corrupted.
To edit the text, change the ‘Example Text’ to your own information. (SEE IMAGE BELOW)

HELPFUL HINTS
- ENVELOPES: Your envelope template has an editable area on the front for your guest name or name/address. If you don't wish to use the editable text, and would prefer the envelope to remain blank, simply open the file in Adobe Reader and delete the sample text. Save the file.
- RETURN ADDRESSES: If you require return addresses on your envelopes, we suggest using a sticker or writing them on the back of the envelopes.
- SPACES BETWEEN WORDS: If you are having trouble adding spaces between your words, or issues with the auto-resizing feature, simply add all required text, then add spaces after you’ve finished typing, using the mouse to insert them.
- BLUE HIGHLIGHTED FIELDS: To remove the blue highlighted areas, find 'Preferences' and click on 'Forms' and then under the heading 'Highlight Color' untick the box that reads 'Show border hover color for fields'.
- AUTO TEXT RESIZE FEATURE: The fonts are set to an auto sized text. The more text that is typed into the editable text areas, the smaller the text will become.
- REMOVING THE (+): If you see a (+) sign at the end of your text fields, this annoying little feature WILL print on your final copy. To remove it, in Adobe Reader go up to 'Preferences', then click on 'Forms' and under the 'General' heading untick the box that reads 'Show text field overflow indicator'.
INCORRECT FONTS
If your files DO NOT contain the correct Fonts, and appear to have only a basic computer or small/incorrect font, something has gone awry, such as:
1. Not using the latest version Adobe Acrobat Reader to edit, or
2. You have attempted to edit & save your files online, before opening them in Adobe Acrobat Reader, or
3. Your file has opened by default in another program on your computer, such as Mac Preview, without your knowledge.
Sometimes, computers can open files in a ‘default’ program, such as Mac Preview (especially if you simply double click the file to open it, or right-click and select 'Open'). So even though you have the correct version of Adobe Reader, if your file is not open in this program, and opens in the wrong program, the embedded editable fonts will not appear correctly.
If you have downloaded your file online and opened it in a Web Page, then attempted to edit it and save it. Then found when you opened it in Adobe Reader the fonts are not working, it is because the file must ONLY be edited within Adobe Acrobat Reader (not online).
*To ensure you have the correct version of Adobe Reader, simply selecting ‘Check for Updates’ in an earlier version of Adobe Reader is not enough. The most recent version must be downloaded independently for the embedded fonts to work correctly.
Our editable PDF files are NOT compatible with Adobe Reader Touch - You MUST use Adobe Reader DC.
To correct an Error with Incorrect Fonts you must:
SAVING EDITED FILES
To save your edited files, simply select Save from the File menu in Adobe Acrobat Reader.
Only the latest versions of Adobe Acrobat Reader (Version 11, DC or newer) have the ability to Save Edited files with Mac & PC.
If there is no ‘Save’ option in the File menu, then you are not using the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader.
Please note: You can only save files in .PDF format using Adobe Reader, which is the same format as the original file.

EMAILING FILES
EMAILING TO A PRINTER
If you need to send your edited invitation/envelope files to a printer, we DO NOT recommend it. The edited text may not send correctly, and if the printer does not open the files using the latest version of Adobe Reader at the other end, the files will become corrupted, and will not be printable.
We suggest uploading your files to Dropbox, or a similar online cloud storage service. You can then copy the direct link and email it to your printer, for them to download to their computer.
**Please Note: The person at the other MUST still open the file(s) using the latest version of Adobe Reader, or the embedded fonts and edited text will become corrupted and will not show up.

STEP 4: ASSEMBLING
5x7" INVITATIONS & ENVELOPES
If you opted to print the 2 5x7" invitations per 8x11" page, you will need to cut out your invitations using scissors.
The included do-it-yourself Envelope Template is designed to match the invitations, and when folded should measure 5.25" x 7.25" (perfectly sized to fit 5x7" invitations).
Please Note: If your envelopes DO NOT FIT your Invitations, Please re-read the IMPORTANT Printing Paper Sizes Info above.
When you have cut out your envelope template, fold the 3 horizontal lines (between envelope front and back, and between envelope front and back flap). Then fold the white side tabs into the centre.
To assemble the envelope, lay it face down, and add a thin layer of glue stick to the folded envelope side tabs. Fold up the envelope back and secure it to the side tabs, making sure to line everything up correctly.
2.5x7" 'TICKET STYLE' INVITATIONS & ENVELOPES
If you have purchased a 'ticket style' Invitation (ie. Vintage Baseball Invitation), you will have had the option to print the 2 per 5x7" sheet or 4 per 8x11" sheet. For both options you will need to cut out your invitations using scissors.
The included do-it-yourself Envelope Template is designed to match the invitations, and when folded should measure approx. 2.75" x 7.25" (perfectly sized to fit 2.5x7" 'ticket style' invitations).
Please Note: If your envelopes DO NOT FIT your Invitations, Please re-read the IMPORTANT Printing Paper Sizes Info above.
When you have cut out your envelope template, fold the 3 horizontal lines (between envelope front and back, and between envelope back and long white tab). Then fold the white side tab and larger side flap into the centre.
To assemble the envelope, lay it face down, and add a thin layer of glue stick to the folded long white side tab. Fold the envelope front onto it and secure it to the long and short white tabs, making sure everything lines up correctly.

IMPORTANT NOTES
☆ PRINT OPTION GREYED OUT - This means that your digital file has not been unzipped correctly. When using a PC computer, you cannot simply open a .zip file, it must be 'decompressed' or 'unzipped' first. Please see the instructions above under 'Step 1: Downloading' for more detailed information about unzipping files correctly.
☆ EDITING FILES - Do Not EDIT files in your Web Browser. If you begin to edit files in an internet browser page and then attempt to SAVE, files WILL NOT SAVE CORRECTLY and FONTS will be corrupted when re-opened in Adobe Reader.
☆ EMAILING FILES - We DO NOT recommend sending Editable PDF files VIA EMAIL. If you need to transfer files from a Work Computer to a Home Computer, for instance, you MUST DOWNLOAD then SAVE your Sassaby Files to a FLASH USB DRIVE, or use a free File Upload Service such as DROPBOX. Please see more about emailing files under the 'PRINTING' heading.
☆ FONT ISSUES - SMALL or INCORRECT FONTS within your Sassaby Files usually means you DO NOT have the correct version of Adobe Acrobat Reader. -or- that your file has OPENED in the WRONG PROGRAM by Mistake (Such as Mac Preview). Please check which program has opened your file.
☆ COMPUTER SOFTWARE - You MUST USE the LATEST VERSION of Adobe Acrobat Reader to view your fonts correctly as explained above. Clicking 'OPEN' and Editing/Saving your files in your web browser will also cause issues with fonts. .JPG formatted files can use your computers default Picture Viewer to View/Print files.
☆ PRINTING - We recommend PRINTING your items on white CARDSTOCK PAPER that is at least 200gsm in weight. As a general rule, for Invitations, Boxes & Party Printables, heavier paper works well, holds its shape and is easier to work with. For other items, such as Envelopes we recommend regular white Printer Paper, since it requires a thinner paper to fold and assemble.
☆ PAPER SIZES - ALL FILES are Formatted to 8x11" sheets - NOT 8.5x11". This is to suit both US Letter & A4 Paper Sizes, since we are an International Seller. DO NOT allow your Printer to alter to ‘Fit’ or change the size to suit your paper in any way, as this will ALTER your digital files and the Invitations WILL NOT fit into your folded Envelopes. When using Adobe Reader simply select the ‘Actuall Size’ option.
☆ COPYRIGHT RELEASE - Some PROFESSIONAL PRINTERS require permission from the Designer/Owner of Digital Files protected under Copyright Law before they will allow you to print.
Please feel free to download the Copyright Release Form and enter the Date and your name.
