STEP 2: EDITING
To edit your files, you will require the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader, which is a Free Download available for Mac or PC at http:// www.get.adobe.com/reader
When opened correctly in Adobe Reader, all editable files have embedded fonts, colours and sizes, and will appear as you see them in the examples online.
All editable Sassaby Parties files must be Opened in Adobe Acrobat Reader BEFORE attempting to Edit in any other way.
If files are Edited in a Web Browser, Mac Preview or any other program, the embedded editable fonts will not show up correctly, and the file will become corrupted.
To Edit your file, change the ‘Example Letters’ to your own letters required to make your banner. (SEE IMAGE BELOW)

PERSONALISING YOUR BANNER - PRINT AT HOME OPTION
To create your Banner, simply edit the Letters you require to create your message and Save each file as you go. For Example:
To create a Banner that reads ‘HAPPY BIRTHDAY!’, you would save a separate Banner Sheet of the following Letter combinations: HA, PP, YB, IR, TH, DA, Y!
You can edit & save each individual sheet required for your Banner (ie. Birthday Banner HA, Birthday Banner PP etc) if you wish to have your files professionally printed.
If you are printing at Home, this option is the easiest, as you can Edit the Letters and Print each sheet as you go (ie. Edit letters to HA, then Print, then Edit the Letters to PP, then Print…and so on.)
PERSONALISING YOUR BANNER - PROFESSIONAL PRINT OPTION
If your Banner is a little more complicated, such as ‘HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESSICA & JEREMY’, we recommend writing down your required letters on a sheet of paper, and working out a printing plan.
For Example, you would write down the letters as follows:
H A P P Y B I R T H D A Y J E S S I C A & J E R E M Y
Then you would work out how many of each letter there is, and cross them out as you go:
2x H, 3x A, 2x P, 2x Y….and so on.
Then, you would create your Banner Letters in order to Print Single or Multiple copies such as:
2 Copies of a HP Banner sheet, 3 Copies of an AE Banner sheet etc.
This method is helpful if you are having your items printed Online or at a Professional Printers, as it saves the number of multiple copies of files that are saved for your banner.
If you are printing at home, the regular method, or an Edit & Print as you go approach is suitable.

HELPFUL HINTS
- BLUE HIGHLIGHTED FIELDS: To remove the blue highlighted areas, find 'Preferences' and click on 'Forms' and then under the heading 'Highlight Color' untick the box that reads 'Show border hover color for fields'.
- REMOVING THE (+): If you see a (+) sign at the end of your text fields, this annoying little feature WILL print on your final copy. To remove it, in Adobe Reader go up to 'Preferences', then click on 'Forms' and under the 'General' heading untick the box that reads 'Show text field overflow indicator'.
INCORRECT FONTS
If your files DO NOT contain the correct Fonts, and appear to have only a basic computer or small/incorrect font, something has gone awry, such as:
1. Not using the latest version Adobe Acrobat Reader to edit, or
2. You have attempted to edit & save your files online, before opening them in Adobe Acrobat Reader, or
3. Your file has opened by default in another program on your computer, such as Mac Preview, without your knowledge.
Sometimes, computers can open files in a ‘default’ program, such as Mac Preview (especially if you simply double click the file to open it, or right-click and select 'Open'). So even though you have the correct version of Adobe Reader, if your file is not open in this program, and opens in the wrong program, the embedded editable fonts will not appear correctly.
If you have downloaded your file online and opened it in a Web Page, then attempted to edit it and save it. Then found when you opened it in Adobe Reader the fonts are not working, it is because the file must ONLY be edited within Adobe Acrobat Reader (not online).
*To ensure you have the correct version of Adobe Reader, simply selecting ‘Check for Updates’ in an earlier version of Adobe Acrobat Reader is not enough. The most recent version must be downloaded independently for the embedded fonts to work correctly.
To correct an Error with Incorrect Fonts you must:
SAVING EDITED FILES
To save your edited files, simply select Save from the File menu in Adobe Acrobat Reader.
Only the latest versions of Adobe Acrobat Reader (Version 11, DC or newer) have the ability to Save Edited files with Mac & PC.
If there is no ‘Save’ option in the File menu, then you are not using the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader.
Please note: You can only save files in .PDF format using Adobe Reader, which is the same format as the original file.

- Open Adobe Acrobat Reader, then go up to the File menu and Open your file(s).
- Begin to Edit the text & Save the file.

STEP 3: PRINTING
When using Adobe Acrobat Reader you have the option to Print at Home, at your Local Print Store or by Uploading your Saved files to an Online Printing Service that accepts PDF files.
Please visit the PRINTING TIPS page for detailed information and recommendations for print stores and online printing services.
EMAILING FILES
EMAILING TO A PRINTER
If you need to send your edited files to a printer, we DO NOT recommend it. The edited text may not send correctly, and if the printer does not open the files using the latest version of Adobe Reader at the other end, the files will become corrupted, and the text/fonts will not print correctly.
We suggest uploading your files to Dropbox, or a similar online cloud storage service. You can then copy the direct link and email it to your printer, for them to download to their computer.
**Please Note: The person at the other MUST still open the file(s) using the latest version of Adobe Reader, or the embedded fonts and edited text will become corrupted and will not show up correctly.
Please visit the PRINTING TIPS page for detailed information and recommendations for print stores and online printing services.

IMPORTANT NOTES
☆ EDITING FILES - Do Not EDIT files in your Web Browser. If you begin to Edit files Online and then attempt to SAVE, files WILL NOT SAVE CORRECTLY and FONTS will be corrupted when re-opened in Adobe Reader.
☆ EMAILING FILES - We DO NOT recommend sending Editable PDF files VIA EMAIL. If you need to transfer files from a Work Computer to a Home Computer, for instance, you MUST DOWNLOAD then SAVE your Sassaby Files to a FLASH USB DRIVE, or use a free File Upload Service such as DROPBOX. Please see more about emailing files under the 'PRINTING' heading.
☆ FONT ISSUES - SMALL or INCORRECT FONTS within your Sassaby Files usually means you DO NOT have the correct version of Adobe Acrobat Reader. -or- that your file has OPENED in the WRONG PROGRAM by Mistake (Such as Mac Preview). Please check which program has opened your file.
☆ COMPUTER SOFTWARE - You MUST USE the LATEST VERSION of Adobe Acrobat Reader to view your fonts correctly as explained above. Clicking 'OPEN' and Editing/Saving your files in your web browser will also cause issues with fonts.
☆ PRINTING - We recommend PRINTING your items on white CARDSTOCK PAPER that is at least 170gsm in weight. Heavier paper works well, holds its shape and is easier to work with.
☆ PAPER SIZES - ALL FILES are Formatted to 8x11" sheets - NOT 8.5x11". This is to suit both US Letter & A4 Paper Sizes, since we are an International Seller. DO NOT allow your Printer to alter to ‘Fit’ or change the size to suit your paper in any way, as this will ALTER your digital files and the Invitations WILL NOT fit into your folded Envelopes. When using Adobe Reader simply select the ‘Actuall Size’ option.
☆ COPYRIGHT RELEASE - Some PROFESSIONAL PRINTERS require permission from the Designer/Owner of Digital Files protected under Copyright Law before they will allow you to print.
Please feel free to download the Copyright Release Form and enter the Date and your name.
